October 2019 eNews - Happy Fall, Y'all!

Updated: May 3, 2020

Happy Fall, Y’all! We hope everyone has eased back into the routine of school and dance. Our teachers love having their superstars back in class!

Moving into October, we have our annual Mom’s Pantry Fundraiser, as well as our highly anticipated, and super fun, Costume Week at dance leading up to Halloween. More details on both can be found further in this eNews. Reminder to all dance families on the monthly installment plan for fee payments, fees are due in the office by cash, cheque, or credit card the first class of October. A $5.00 late fee will be applied to all late fee payments. Remember to mark your calendars: There are no classes on Monday October 14th for Thanksgiving and Thursday October 31st for Halloween

Mom's Pantry Fundraiser

Our annual Mom’s Pantry fundraiser is a great way for you, your friends, and your family members, to stock up on amazing baking and cooking products in time for the holiday season, all while supporting the activities here at Maples Academy of Dance.

Orders can be placed online using the Order # 296536 and Group Passcode: 24762.

Fundraising helps us lower the cost for programs and events like our annual dance recital, SHINE. For our Performance Team members who choose to fundraise, it helps make the expensive competition fees more affordable, increasing the opportunities for our dancers to shine on stage.

Thank you for supporting this fundraiser. Please submit orders by Thursday October 24 at 9pm.

Costume Week at Dance

Costumes are fun! Spooky costumes, funny costumes, animal costumes, and more, we want to see them all! In honour of Halloween, dancers are invited to wear their costumes to class from Thursday October 24 to Wednesday October 30. Dancers who wear their costumes to class during costume week will be entered into our Halloween Week prize draw. Draw will be made on Halloween, October 31 and shared on our social media pages. Don’t follow our pages? Go to the links at the bottom of this eNews to like and follow us today! Please remember to send extra dance clothes with your dancer if their costume prevents them from fully participating in class.

Halloween Treats

Halloween is a fun time of year, especially with all the tasty treats available! We often have dancers who enjoy sharing Halloween treats with their classmates. If you choose to bring Halloween treats to class to share, please remember we are a nut free facility. While we do our best to try to prevent nuts and other common food allergens from entering our facility, we are not able to police all dancers and the contents of their bags. If you have a dancer with allergies or other food related medical concerns, please educate them on the importance of not eating treats without first checking with a parent.

Move For Mental Illness Awareness Challenge!

We're excited to be partnering with the Mood Disorders Association of Manitoba to offer classes with Miss Shauna at Maples Academy of Dance for the Move for Mental Illness Awareness Week Challenge. Miss Shauna will be offering a yoga class and jazz funk class on Oct 11.  To participate, all you need to do is sign up on their website, and they’ll send you a schedule of all of the classes different partners like us are offering in Winnipeg! This is a fundraiser, and class participation is by donation. Please consider participating and supporting this excellent fundraiser.

Superstar Shout Out!

We'd like to send a superstar congratulations to Mr Rowin, who recently married his beautiful wife Christine. Wishing you both a life filled with love and happiness. Do you know a member of our dance family who deserves a superstar shout out for the great things they're doing? Email the studio today!
